Pairings: Spike/Xander
Disclaimer: I own nothing but the plot. I bend to Joss Whedon's will and try my best not to murder his characters.
Summary: What if Buffy had to go out and look for Cordy and Oz instead of looking for Xander and Willow when Spike kidnaps them.
Warnings: It's AU. There is fondling then some blood letting. Xander gets vamped and there is A LOT character death. Plus some not so pretty torture. Also, I'm not good at typing British accents, so use your imagination when reading for Spike.

Halfway To Columbia

Part One

The potion blew up in Willow's face again. Spike made an annoyed noise behind her and looked over her shoulder.

"I can't do this when you're hovering!"

"Problem, Red?" he said ignoring her angry outburst.

"Yes. This is the third time I've done the spell. It's just not working. You're making me nervous."

"That because Xanny-bear's life is on the line?" He softened his voice, pretending to be sincere.

"Just let me work."

"You've had one too many chances. I remember telling you that if it didn't work the first time, I'd kill him. Didn't work the second time, I'd kill you. Now, seeing as how I'm generous. I'll kill him then give you three more chances. Then I'll kill you. Sound fair, pet?"

She got up and tried to leave. He grabbed her wrist and smirked. She struggled against him as she tried to leave, but found herself being forced against the wall.

"Now, now, pet. No fair leaving in the middle of a game. Someone might think you were a poor sport."

He chained her against the wall and made his way towards the bed. He slowly eyed Xander who was lying still there. Spike lay in bed, he grinned as Willow struggled against the chains trying to rush to her friend's aid.

"Spike, you can't! You're just lashing out. You're upset."

"Yeah. Upset." He propped himself up and turned Xander's limp head to reveal his neck. Spike ran his finger along a vein. "Looks like I need a bit of comfort food."

He switched to his vamp face and went to bite down, but stopped when he felt a weak kick in his knee.

"Bastard," Xander said weakly. "I'll get you if you hurt Willow."

"Me hurt Willow? No. Just giving her a wee bit of motivation. Now hold still. Don't want me to miss do you?"

Xander scrunched his neck, trying to prevent Spike from having access to it. Spike forced his head aside, holding his head there.

"You're getting to be a pain."

"A pain in the neck? That's ironic."

He forced a laugh and struggled against Spike's hand. He was still weak from being hit over the head with a microscope. Spike kind of liked him. No one gave the boy enough credit. He was strong-willed. He took the boy's face and turned his face so that Xander was looking into Spike's eyes. He didn't have the nifty trick Drusilla had. But, he wanted him to at least know what he was planning on doing.

"You'd make a good vampire, pet." Spike said with a smile.

"Xander will not be a vampire! He's not going to be one!"

Spike looked annoyed. He had forgotten about the witch. He took one of the pillows and slipped off the case. He got up and tied the pillow case around her mouth.

"New plan, pet. I'm going to work my own magic."

He went back to Xander who was now squirming on the bed, trying to get up, and trying to get the Hell out before he was turned. Spike easily pushed him back down on the bed.

"I don't want to be the thing you use until you get Drusilla back."

"Drusilla isn't coming back, luv."

"Why not?"

"Burnt her. Burnt her to a nice little crisp. Now she's all mad and won't come back."

"Why?"

Spike grinned and ran his finger along his neck, "Accused me of wanting the Slayer. No one accuses me of that." Xander flinched as Spike's head moved toward his neck. But, instead of biting, he licked it slowly, taking in the taste. "I've only done this once. I mean, Sired anyone. It was me mum. She was sick, wanted to save her. The results weren't good. After that, it was just me and Dru, so I never tried again."

"So, you're a loyal vamp. That's new."

"Yeah, I'll be loyal until the day I'm staked." He licked Xander's neck slowly again. Xander was relaxing. He smiled. He wanted to have a good little Childe, one that wasn't insane and slept around. He was going to make Xander be loyal to him. "You loyal, mate?" Xander flinched and it caught Spike off guard. "A cheater? Well, we'll have to knock you of the habit."

"Spike, please don't. I'd make a horrible... uh... mate. I'm not even that way."

"Then why are you hard?"

Xander tried to look down, he really didn't have feeling in the lower half of his body at the moment. He reminded himself not to tackle a vampire then use his feet as leverage when pressed against a wall. Spike grabbed him. Okay, he felt it now. Maybe Larry hadn't been completely off about him being gay. He moaned. He was going to have to take a long cold shower later. He couldn't believe Spike was arousing him.

Spike moved his hand down Xander's pants, muffled screaming was coming from Willow's direction. It only made him want to do it to Xander more. He started to slowly slide his hand up and down Xander's shaft without unbuttoning Xander's pants. He wanted to give the witch a show, but Hell if she was seeing Xander's cock. He cupped Xander's balls then moved back to working his shaft. The gasp that escaped Xander's lips told him he was doing it right. He started to stroke him harder.

Xander moaned louder, he couldn't help himself. It just felt so good; he closed his eyes and came in his pants. He watched Spike. He watched with a lustful gaze as Spike pulled out his hand and licked the come from it. God, he wanted him.

"Like that?" Xander nodded. "Think you'd like to do that forever?" Xander nodded again. "Would you kill for that to happen again?" Xander nodded furiously and bucked his hips. Spike held his hips down and ran a finger down Xander's neck. "You know what you have to give me permission to do, pet."

Xander turned his head, revealing his neck to Spike. Screw Drusilla and her trances. His sexuality could make anyone putty in his hands. He looked at the witch and made sure she could see that her friend was offering his neck so willingly to him. Tears were in her eyes. He decided that she would be his pet's first meal as he turned back to Xander. He was still lying there, perfectly still, waiting for the bite to come.

Spike bit into him, draining him. It hurt at first, but after that it was pleasure. It felt like he was finally being freed of everything. He closed his eyes and moaned.

This was a first for Spike, no one had ever moaned while he drained them. He could hear Xander's heart beat slowing, until it was barely beating. He released him, much to Xander's distaste.

He whimpered as he thought Spike took too long to slit his wrist and put it up to Xander's mouth. Now along with his freedom, he felt power. He felt pure power enter his body. He smiled and closed his eyes. He could feel the old Xander slipping away. "Bye." Xander whispered before finally dying.

Part Two

Spike nursed his wrist. He felt weak and eyed Red. She was hanging there limply. He wondered if he should have a bite before his pet woke up. No, he had to wait. He watched him and moved his hand to play with a few strands of hair. He seemed peaceful. He smiled and stroked where he had bit him. He wondered if this was how he looked like. He shivered as he remembered how he had first awoken. Drusilla was a crazy nutter for actually going and burying him. He remembered that she compared him to a blood covered daisy. His Xander wasn't going to be a blood covered daisy.

Xander stirred and looked up at Spike. "Sire?" he said to him.

"Yeah," Spike said with a smile.

"I'm hungry. Have something for me to eat?"

"Got just the thing to break you in." Spike pointed at Willow.

Xander followed his finger and frowned, "It's Willow. I don't want to eat Willow. Wait, why don't I want to eat Willow?"

Spike stroked his hair and kissed his forehead, "Because I spoiled you. That's why."

"Spoiled me?" He edged away. "What do you mean?"

"Well, you didn't have to break through a wooden coffin, which is why most newly raised vampires don't rise, thank you very much, then dig six feet to the surface. Confused and violent, and just not knowing what’s going on. I spoiled you, but in the good way."

Xander smiled and kissed Spike's neck, "What happens if I feel like being violent?"

Spike grinned, "Your choice. We have to take care of our guest first. You can turn her if you like. If you want to start a nest or something." He stroked Xander's chin and watched his eyes move over her.

"No nest. No one else. Just me an you."

"You said you'd kill for it to happen again." Xander pouted. "Sorry, pet. Can't let her live. If you want, I'll do it and we'll find you someone else."

Xander nibbled on his ear and whispered into it, "Would it make you happy if I killed her, Sire?"

Spike nodded, "Would make me shag you right in front of her dead body."

"Then, looks like I'm killing a witch. She looks a bit dead already though."

"We'll get you something more fresh after you feed on this one. Fancy a visit to your parents'?"

Xander smiled, "You are spoiling me. Stop it."

Spike took Xander's chin between his thumb and index finger, kissing him gently, "Nope, never."

Xander bounced up and looked at Willow. He tilted her sagging head. He felt grief that he was about to kill her, but as he looked back at Spike, waiting to see what he was going to do, he had the sudden desire to please him beyond all else. He sunk his teeth into her and drank deep. It tasted so good. She was a virgin, he could taste it. Oz hadn't touched her yet and it made her blood sweeter. Then there was the power, he was addicted to it. He felt the magic in her swell and pass to him. It settled in his veins. He released her neck.

"Baby," he said looking at Spike. "Ever have a virgin witch before?"

Spike grinned and edged off the bed, "Am I going to have a taste?"

He watched his Sire walk up to her and plunge his fangs in. Xander watched him for awhile before helping Spike drain her of her blood. They released almost at the same time, Xander falling back on the bed. He didn't feel any grief from killing her anymore. He wondered if this was how a lion felt after killing its prey. He felt high and aroused. Spike obviously felt the same because he was on top of Xander, groping him and plunging his tongue into his mouth. Xander let him continue for a few moments before growling.

"I want more like the witch," he said to his Sire. "I want powerful blood."

"You know what has powerful blood?"

"No, what has powerful blood?"

"A slayer." Spike felt his cock harden as Xander grinned evilly. "Know where to find one, Xan?"

Xander nodded, "Yeah. Just got to let me have first bite."

"Anything, pet. You're my spoiled Childe."

Part Three

Joyce answered the door; Xander was standing there just outside the threshold. He waved at her sweetly. "Is Buffy home?" he asked politely.

"Yeah, she's upstairs getting ready for bed."

"Can I come in?" He pouted a bit.

"Well, if it's important, of course you can come in."

Xander grinned broadly as he stepped into the house. He could smell Buffy's blood from downstairs. It was overpowering. Spike wasn't kidding. He wanted her.

He clasped his hand over Joyce's mouth and whispered, "Sorry, Joyce. You might have birthed a Slayer, but you don't have any power in your veins. I'm not interested in eating you."

He snapped her neck. He could feel Spike watching him from the window. He looked at him. Pure joy was on his face. Spike entered the house.

"Looks like they didn't uninvite you." Xander said with a grin.

"Guess they weren't expecting me back so soon."

Xander snogged Spike, "I'm glad you came back."

"Happy?"

"Yes, very happy. I love when their lives are in my hands, then it's gone. I also like the smile you get on your face when I do it."

"I also think you're high off virgin blood. Sure you won't feel guilty, pet?"

"No. I need more. I want powerful blood."

Spike nibbled on Xander's ear, "You take after your Sire. Go on, get her. She'll be less suspicious if it's you alone."

Xander tensed as he climbed the stairs. He wondered what Slayer blood tasted like. He said it was ten times better than a witch's blood any day. He sort of wished Buffy was still a virgin. It would have made it better. Tons better. He watched her exit the bathroom. She only had a towel on.

"Hey, Buff." he said.

She started almost dropping the towel, "Oh, hey Xander." She inspected him. "You look a bit different. Where have you and Willow been? You two have been gone for awhile. Cordy and Oz were halfway to Columbia by the time I found them."

"We went on a little trip. We're back now though. Sorry, it was kind of last minute. I would have wrote, but I figured I'd get back before my postcard. Plus, I didn't have access to a phone. No change."

"Ah," she looked at him. He was kind of blocking the way to her bedroom. "So, what are you doing here? Just come to tell me you're back?"

He pushed Buffy against the wall, "I want you. Part of me has always wanted you. That's what I came to tell you."

She gasped, a bit shocked at how assertive he was being, "I... I... I didn't know you um, felt that way, Xander. I'm with Angel. Please, stop." She felt his lips against her neck. She tried to push him away. Why was he so strong? His lips parted and his teeth sunk into her. "No... Xander..."

He drained her, moaning. He felt Spike nudge him and he made room for him. Spike was right. Virgin or no, she was ten times better than the witch. He let her limp body drop. He gasped. He knew he didn't need air, but he couldn't help it. He looked down at Buffy's body.

"Guess that means there's another one somewhere else." Xander said his voice thick and husky.

"We'll look for her later."

Xander felt himself get knocked back; his Sire was on top of him, tearing off his clothes. Xander was tearing off Spike's clothes. He wanted more, if killing got this sort of reaction of out Spike, he'd kill anyone Spike told him to kill. He just wanted more of this.

~*~*~*~*~

Spike lit a cigarette and smiled as his lover rose beside him. He remembered the things they did last night and grinned widely as he blew smoke out of his lips.

"We still in Buffy's house?" Xander asked him.

"Yeah, we are. It's night again, pet."

"What's that mean?"

"Giles and the remaining Slayerettes have noticed Buffy is missing."

"Do we HAVE to feed off them? No power, no feeding. I kind of just want to snap their necks. Besides, I bet Oz has fleas."

Spike smiled, "Looks like I'll have to start tracking witches for you."

"Well, there are two people I wouldn't mind feeding off of that aren't witches. I'm afraid they'll leave a bad taste in my mouth though."

Xander nuzzled Spike's neck, "You want to play 'Invite me in' with your family and friends a bit?"

"It's fun. I like being free and making you happy. When I see you happy about me killing, it makes everything okay. For the first time in my life, everything is perfect. You don't make me feel like the sidekick."

"You're not a sidekick." Spike nuzzled him. "You're mine and I'm yours. We belong together, pet."

Xander grinned, "As an act of loyalty. I'll kill my ex-girlfriend for you."

"Make it painful, love?"

"You know I will."

Part Four

Cordy closed the book, "How will books help us find Xander and Willow? I can't believe I'm saying this, but we need Buffy."

Giles took off his glasses and cleaned them, "I have been trying to call, but I get no answer. Of course, Buffy has probably left town again or something."

"Xander." Oz said.

Everyone turned to see Xander standing there. Buffy's limp body was in his hand, he hadn’t even bothered to dress her. He was smiling. He threw her at Giles, who backed away, letting the body hit the floor with a thud. Spike came in and inspected Xander's work before hopping over the counter, stuffing all the weapons they had into a duffle bag.

"This is it, luv?" he said to Xander.

"Giles keeps his shiniest weapons in the book cage." Xander smiled at them. "Hey, everyone. Good to see you. I'm here to kill you, hope that's okay."

Giles pointed at Spike then Buffy, "You! You killed her then turned Xander!"

Spike looked at the slayer's body, "Got it all wrong. I turned him, then he killed her. Was his idea to bring the body. He was made for this. I think it's his true calling."

"We'll have to get Willow to re-ensoul him." Cordy said.

Xander smiled and licked his lips, "Willow tasted like cotton candy and strawberries."

Oz lunged at him, maybe if he was a werewolf, he could have taken him, but he was human and Xander caught him easily. He snapped his neck and threw him aside.

"What did Buffy taste like, pet?" Spike was walking out of the cage. All the weapons in the library were stuffed into the bags. Then he looked at Oz's body with a strange smile on his face.

"She tasted bitter. Like lemons that had sat out too long, but it was a head rush and I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it a whole lot."

Cordy stomped her feet, "Great! Eaten by a vampire! I knew this would happen if I hung around you people too long."

Xander's laugh was cold, "Sweetheart," he addressed her. "I'm pretty much full. I'm just going to snap your pretty little neck."

Spike pouted, "Luv, you promised me a show."

"Did I?" he said like he never made a promise.

"Don't tease, baby."

“Now see here,” Giles said, stepping forward. “You are not allowed to come in here and just…”

“Kill you all?” Xander finished. “Face it, Giles. You failed me, you failed Buffy, you failed Willow, and you failed everyone else. But, hey, I’m a forgiving guy. I’ll let you join them.”

Xander handed Cordy to Spike, who struggled against his tight grip. Xander walked over to Giles. Giles held up a cross and Xander hissed. He knocked Giles back, his eyes filled with anger.

“Xander, I know you’re still in there.”

“Silly, naïve fool! I am beyond Xander now. Could your doughnut boy take out a slayer? Nope, I don’t think so. Now, go quietly or my mercy is going to run completely out.”

“Just… just let me re-ensoul you, Xander. Once you get your soul back, I’m sure…”

Xander picked him up and threw him across the room, “I don’t want it back!”

“You tell him, luv.” Spike leered.

Xander walked up to Giles’ body and kicked it. He huffed and snapped his neck for good measures, just in case he had somehow survived the brutal throw. He looked over at Cordy, she was whimpering. He glared at her.

“I honestly don’t feel like playing anymore. Just snap her neck, Spike. These people are pissing me off. Re-ensoul me. What self respecting vampire would willingly do that to themselves? Besides, I have to be home for dinner.”

Spike pouted, “You promised. This is the bird, isn’t she? The loud mouthed one. The annoying one who thought she was too good for you. Come on. How is your girlfriend like an apple?”

“She’s rotten to the core?”

“Hey! I’m not rotten!” Cordy said trying to summon some strength, but Xander could still smell fear on her. “And I am better than you any day, Mr. Undead Guy. So, you know, don’t forget, people will miss me.”

“Oh, I forgot all about the Cordettes.” Xander said taking a knife out of his boot. “I’m real scared of them. Will they give me a ticket for being undead after Labor Day?”

He licked the edge of the knife and grinned at Spike. His mood picked up as soon as he saw that evil twinkle in Spike’s eyes. The one that said, “Less talking, just more killing.”

“You haven’t solved the riddle yet, pet.”

He weighed the knife in his hand and looked at her, “She has the intelligence of one?”

“HEY!”

“Nope, wrong again, pet.”

Xander thought as he playfully tossed the knife from hand to hand. He moved closer to his lover and ex-girlfriend and pressed the knife against her cheek.

“Wanna see if I can get her in one strip?”

Cordy screamed as the knife dug into her skin. Xander cut off a piece of her cheek and licked the blood as it streamed down her neck. He shuttered and pulled back.

“What’s she taste like, pet?”

“Filth. She tastes like the dirt under my fingernails.” He inspected Cordy’s perfectly manicured nails. “An eye for an eye, I guess.”

Cordy let out another scream as Xander gripped tighter on her hand. Spike watched as Xander tore her fingernails off. His undead heart soared. Spike knew from that moment on, he and Xander would be together forever.
